CLEVELAND (WKBN) - Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez was awarded an American League Silver Slugger Award on Friday evening.

He extended his franchise record by picking up his sixth career award.

Last season, the 33-year-old posted a .283 batting average with 34 doubles, 3 triples, 30 home runs, 85 RBI, 103 runs scored and a career-high 44 stolen bases.

Ramirez earned his seventh AL All-Star nod in July, which is tied for second-most in club history behind Bob Feller (8).

He became Cleveland's all-time leader in extra base hits (726) on Sept. 25, breaking Earl Averill’s 87-year club record of 725. Ramirez continues to lead MLB in extra-base hits with 628 since 2017. That is 39 more than any other player over that span.
