NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WJBF)- Aiken Regional Medical Centers is building a new freestanding emergency room in the North Hills shopping center in North Augusta.

That construction is taking up a large part of the parking lot for several businesses there and the business owners aren't happy about it.

"It is taking up half of the parking lot for this entire strip mall. And now it is blocking all of our digital signage. It is blocking all of our signage," said Brandy Gunsolus, owner of "The Splatter Place."

The Splatter Place opened in North Hills Shopping Center on Martintown Road nearly 3 months ago.

Gunsolus said part of the reason she chose the location was the large parking lot. She said they weren't told about the impending construction when they signed the lease.
