MANSFIELD, Pa. (WETM) – Cold weather is making its appearance back into the Twin Tiers, and local businesses in the Mansfield area are preparing for it by providing winter gear for those who need it.

The Mitten Tree is located at several businesses in the Mansfield area that are located on the most-walked routes in the borough. Each tree includes hats, mittens, scarves and coats that have been donated specifically for the cause.

All items on the Mitten Tree, ranging from infant to adult sizes, are up for grabs for those who need them. Organizers of the cause do not track or report who takes items from the tree, as the cause is based solely on the honor system.
