RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) - Christ the King School students in Rutland helped stuff buses full of groceries on Friday.
They helped provide their largest single donation in Stuff-a-Bus history, $20,000, as well as a whole truckload of nonperishable food.
The event helps local food pantries in the region, like BROC Community Action food shelf and the Rutland Community Cupboard.
Organizers say it comes at the perfect time amid uncertainty about food access for many Vermonters.
“It’s incredible, you know, these kids really know how to support their community and you don’t see that every day,” said Audrey Bridge, the executive director of the Rutland Community Cupboard.
