Ind. (WNDU) - Some of you might have turned on the heating at your place already.

But before we get into the freezing weather this upcoming weekend, here’s some advice from a heating expert you should be aware of.

Easy things first, check air filters.

Depending on their condition, replace them with new ones, or clean them every one to three months.

Also, even if you don’t need the heating at this time, turn it on right now and check for any problems.

You should check the vent and flue and see if there’s any damage or anything is blocking inside.

“In the summertime, rodents, a bee’s nest may be in there. A bird may fly in and die in there. We find squirrels. Any of those things can block that. And that will prevent that combustion going outside,” said Brian West the co-founder of Home
