CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) -- Governor Patrick Morrisey announced the launch of the America250 Mural Project, an effort to highlight West Virginia's heritage in time for the nation's 250th anniversary.

According to a press release, the statewide initiative aims to showcase the history and heritage of the Mountain State through hand-painted murals. The effort is part of President Trump's year-long tribute to the founding of the United States, and West Virginia is the first state in the nation to found a statewide mural trail as part of the celebration.

West Virginia's story is one worth telling, and I can't think of a better time to share it than during the year of America's 250th birthday. I'm excited to join President Trump in celebrating this important milestone in our country's history. I
