Irish Miracle is looking for volunteers.
The 42-year tradition in Sarnia, of St. Patrick’s high school students canvassing for non-perishable donations for the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Sarnia food bank, could use some help, said one of the teachers helping organize this year’s Dec. 6 drive.

“If you want to give back to the community and you’re looking for a way to do that, our doors are open for every volunteer,” said Vanessa Borody.
Volunteers don’t have to be students or know students to take part in the 9 a.m. to noon collection campaign that last year brought in about 4,400 bags and 200 boxes of donations, she said.
That’s down from about 7,000 bags in 2023 and 2022 , and Pre-COVID-19 collection years that yielded 8,000 bags .
