AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A lane closure in southeast Austin is expected to last through the evening hours, according to the Austin Police Department.
Around noon Friday, APD said on social media the lane closures were at Interstate 35 southbound near the Stassney Lane exit and southbound service road near St. Elmo Road, which is located in southeast Austin.
"The main SB lanes remain open. Please use alternate routes and allow extra travel time," police said.
In its original social media post, APD said the lane closures were only expected to last 1-2 hours. However, APD said shortly before 2:30 p.m. that "the closures were expected to continue through the evening hours."
"Please continue to allow extra travel time," police said.
