DENVER (KDVR) — A special comedy benefit is raising money and showing support for the Nederland community after a massive fire destroyed the town's shopping plaza.

The Caribou Village Shopping Center caught fire on Oct. 9, burning down 18 businesses. Community described the shopping plaza as the heart of Nederland.

Nearly a month after the devastating fire, a comedy benefit called "Stand Up for Nederland" is being held on Nov. 28 at The Dairy Arts Center in Boulder to support relief and recovery for the community in Nederland.

The benefit will feature three of Boulder's Comedy Works headliners — Vinnie Montez, Nancy Norton and John Novosad — bringing laughter and support for Nederland. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the town's ongoing recovery efforts.
