MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - The mother of a missing child who were seen traveling near Western Colorado was arrested Friday on an unrelated charge.

Ashlee Buzzard, 40, was arrested on unrelated charges in the search for her missing daughter, Melodee Buzzard, 9, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office (SBSO) in California. Ashlee reportedly prevented a person from leaving a location against their will. She was charged with false imprisonment and had her bail set at $100,000.

The sheriff's office said that although Ashlee's arrest happened during the missing person investigation, it is not directly related to Melodee's disappearance.
