ST. JOSEPH, Ind. (WNDU) - The St. Joseph County council is all in favor of keeping Portage Manor up and running.

The council shared their decision in a resolution sent to our team this morning.

They cited the property’s rich history, as well as the proposals by St. Thomas Moore Academy and local ecologist Steve Sass to preserve the manor as well as the land around it.

However, it’s not up to the council to determine what happens to the manor.

That decision falls to the county commissioners.

We don’t know yet when they will vote on what to do with the property.
