GREEN LAKE COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) - A duck hunter was rescued from a marshy area in Green Lake County on Friday afternoon after becoming stranded in their canoe.
According to the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office, around 1:15 p.m., dispatch received a call from a duck hunter who was stuck in their canoe and unable to get out of the marsh. While the individual was dry and uninjured, they could not self-rescue due to the thick vegetation and narrow waterways.
Emergency crews initially launched a hovercraft to reach the hunter, but it could not navigate through the dense terrain. A UTV was also brought to the scene, though it too was unable to reach the stranded individual.
Rescue teams then deployed a tracked ARGO vehicle, while a drone operator located the hunter’s position from above. Wor
