WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Donald Trump has granted a pardon to former New York Mets star Daryl Strawberry, clearing him of past tax evasion and drug charges.
A White House official familiar with the matter confirmed the pardon. The official stated that Strawberry, an eight-time MLB All-Star, had previously served time and repaid taxes after pleading guilty to tax evasion.
The official noted that Strawberry has found faith in Christianity and has maintained sobriety for more than a decade.
Strawberry expressed his gratitude to President Trump in a post on Instagram.
