Peloton is recalling nearly 45,000 exercise bike seat posts sold in Canada following U.S. reports that the post assembly broke during use.
The American exercise equipment company said the voluntary recall that involves the Original Series Bike+ models affects approximately 833,000 bikes sold in the U.S.
“The Original Series Bike+ seat post can break during use, posing a potential fall and injury risk to consumers,” Peloton said in the recall notice .
The recall, in cooperation with Health Canada, comes after the company said it received three reports of seat posts breaking among users in the U.S. There were no reports of damaged seat posts from Canada.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said there were two reports of injuries due to a fall.
