NEWARK — A driver who police say was responsible for a two-vehicle multiple injury crash that caused his car to hit a home Aug. 31 has been charged with multiple felonies, authorities said Friday.
According to police and court records, Raul Quintana, 31, of Newark, was driving a sedan at more than 100 mph with a blood alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit. He was charged with felony driving under the influence causing injury to another person and having a blood alcohol content of more than .08 percent .
Quintana, who was hospitalized after the crash, was formally charged Oct. 30 and arrested Wednesday. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail but there was no record of him being in custody Friday.
