A Hudson Valley nursing home employee is accused of striking a resident in the face while on the job.
Troopers responded to Ferncliff Nursing Home, located on Ferncliff Drive in the town of Rhinebeck, on Friday, Oct. 31, after receiving a report that a staff member had assaulted a resident, according to New York State Police.
Following a probe by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) at Rhinebeck, police determined that Janice Germano, 75, of Tivoli, struck a resident in the face, police said.
Germano was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 5, and charged with endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person, a felony.
She was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Rhinebeck Town Court on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
