MONTGOMERY, Ala. ( WSFA ) - A fifth suspect is in custody following the Oct. 4 downtown Montgomery mass shooting that left two people dead and a dozen others injured.

The Montgomery Police Department confirmed Friday afternoon the arrest of Ivan Jarvis Floyd III, 22. He’s charged with ‘certain persons forbidden to carry a firearm.’

Floyd was arrested Thursday and is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility. At the same time, MPD also charged him with theft.

MPD said these additional charges stem from an investigation that happened in the early morning hours of Sept. 29 in the 5300 block of Rolind Drive.

His mug shot includes what appears to be a medical device on his neck, but MPD was unable to comment on whether the injuries were related to the mass shooting.
