GASTONIA, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two women were arrested when a crash on Interstate 85 led to the discovery of a dead body at a Gaston County home.

Gastonia Police says officers responded to a crash on northbound I-85 near Exit 21 involving a semi-truck and a vehicle driven by 58-year-old Marlo Wallace.

After being transported to the hospital, Wallace reportedly informed investigators that they would find a deceased person at her residence on Green Brook Trail in Dallas. When Gastonia PD officers arrived at the home, they discovered the body of Aaliyah Michelle Fortner, 23, who had disabilities and was living at the home under the care of Wallace.
