DELTA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - A video circling social media has been making the rounds showing Delta County Sheriff Mark Taylor in a physical and verbal dispute with his nephew, a former deputy.

The altercation between Taylor and his nephew, Kenny, happened at the sheriff's home on Sept. 15. Video taken at the scene shows Taylor and Kenny wrestling on the ground for about a minute. They then get up and start shouting at each other.

Community members asked if this incident was in relation to Taylor stepping down in January. He has denied this claim.

"This matter is personal and unfortunate and does not involve the Delta County Sheriff's Office or my position as Delta County Sheriff," Taylor said in a statement to WesternSlopeNow.
