AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF)- The longest government shutdown in American history is now wreaking havoc on airports across the country.

The Federal Aviation Administration said Thursday that 40 national airports across the country would see up to 10% cuts in flights.

Now, those impacts are being felt at Augusta Regional Airport.

“We have. As of today, we’ve had two flights into and out of Augusta that have been canceled," said Herbert Judon, executive director for the airport.

Screens around the airport showed that number increased for some flights heading to Atlanta and Charlotte.

The cancellations are impacting an estimated 150 passengers locally—some customers say they narrowly missed a potential delay flying home.
