FITCHBURG, Mass. —
Carlos Zapata is speaking out after his wife, Juliana Milena Ojeda-Montoya, was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents while he was driving her to work on Thursday in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.
New video shows a federal agent holding his hand to Zapata's neck while wearing what Zapata believes was a stun glove.
Speaking with NewsCenter 5 through an interpreter, Zapata said, "I never meant to let go of my wife and not hold. Because I never wanted to let her go. I didn't want them to take her. But when they did that to me, I lost consciousness."
Zapata says both he and his 18-month-old daughter, Alaia, have bruises from the struggle.
In a statement, ICE says the father suffered no legitimate medical emergency and refused medical care.
