CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - The man accused of killing another man in east Charlotte on Thursday night stole the victim’s vehicle before driving away, according to an affidavit.

An affidavit said on Thursday, Nov. 7, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police received a call for a death investigation on Central Avenue near Hawthorne Lane.

Officials said when officers arrived on scene they found a man identified as 68-year-old Gerald Barnes with multiple stab wounds.

The affidavit said video footage shows around 2 p.m. a Black male with his hair in twists and goatee wearing a blue shirt and orange gloves arrived at Central Avenue in a brown Hyundai sedan.
