WONDER LAKE, Ill. — An elderly man is dead after a car accident in McHenry County.
Around 6 p.m. on Thursday, the McHenry County Sheriff's Office and Wonder Lake Fire Protection District were called to Barnard Mill Road west of Summit Drive in rural Wonder Lake for reports of a car crash involving a pedestrian.
An investigation revealed that an SUV was driving east on Barnard Mill Road when it hit a 65-year-old man in the eastbound lane. He was found unconscious in the ditch near the road.
The 65-year-old man was brought to Northwestern Medicine Hospital McHenry and then transferred to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he died.
The SUV was driven by a 34-year-old woman, and its passengers were a 35-year-old man and four children, all of Genoa City, Wisconsin. All
