TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The government shutdown is now the longest in American history . Friday, Nov. 7 was day 38.
Alabama congresswoman Terri Sewell talked about that very thing during her visit to Temporary Emergency Services (TES) in Tuscaloosa. Congresswoman Sewell toured TES because it’s become the go-to place recently for SNAP recipients whose benefits have been suspended because of the federal closure .
“I want people to understand we know with a government shutdown, no one wins in a government shutdown. It is not something that should become the norm, and God forbid that it becomes the norm.
