Dallas Area Rapid Transit police said officers were searching late Friday for a suspect who ran off after shooting a passenger on a train near Akard Station in downtown Dallas.

The shooting briefly halted train service in the area for about an hour.

DART police did not immediately provide an update on the condition of the injured passenger.

Friday’s shooting marks the third violent incident on a DART train since late September.
