CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A Charleston County school board member and state senator’s wife is facing charges she said are based on false accusations by her reportedly estranged husband.
Known professionally just as Michele Leber, Suzanne Michele Leber, 55, is charged with domestic violence in the third degree.
Jail records show she was booked Friday just after 8 a.m.
An affidavit from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office states that the incident occurred Saturday. Monday, Michele Leber is said to have spoken to deputies first, wanting to report that she did not cause an injury she believed her husband would allege she caused.
