LARCHWOOD, Iowa (KTIV) - A man is now found guilty of multiple charges at a Lyon County casino for an incident years ago.

On Thursday, Nov. 6, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation says 38-year-old Shaun Benward of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, was found guilty of multiple felonies related to “a series of fraudulent activities at the Grand Falls Casino in Larchwood, Iowa.”

Court documents say these “fraudulent activities” took place in December 2018.

According to the Iowa DCI’s Special Enforcement Operations Bureau (SEOB), an investigation was initiated in 2018. The SEOB is the primary criminal investigative and enforcement agency for the gaming industry in Iowa.

“He manipulated casino staff to secure over $10,000 in improper payouts,” stated Iowa DCI in a press release.
