GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Grand Valley Horse Rescue, a local nonprofit, is holding an open house Saturday afternoon to show the community what they have to offer.

"We are so excited about having an open house because that means we're still in business," said Grand Valley Horse Rescue Director Shelle DeVergie. "It is our way to go back to the community to say, 'Hey, look what you guys saved.'"

DeVergie says those in attendance can expect a tour and to meet all the horses.

"They can expect to get a tour and meet every one of the horses that we have here and find out why they got here, how they got here, and how soon they'll be leaving," says DeVergie.

The open house may be a way to show off the nonprofit's operations, but it's also a way to thank the community for the financial supp
