A year ago, a couple of injuries forced Rick Bogholtz to make a few changes in his game, and he wasn’t quite sure if he was ever going to be quite the bowler he once was. Those changes eventually paid off, and the Gloversville High School graduate is taking full advantage of his rookie season among the 50-plus senior standouts.

After finishing high on the leaderboard in his first couple of major events this season, the Clifton Park resident captured the prestigious NYS Men’s Senior Master Championship last Saturday at Broadway Lanes in Fort Edward. Bogholtz defeated John Confalone from South Glens Falls 447-409 in the two-game finale and earned $850 for his first state crown.
