Section V's Class A1 final is surprising, in a sense, because it pits the tournament's fourth and sixth seeds. But it should come as a shock to no one that Brighton (the defending champion) and Webster Schroeder (one of the hottest teams in the section) will play for a championship.

Brighton's bid for a second straight title, and third straight final appearance, looked bleak after losses in two of its final three regular season games. The Bruins have returned to form this postseason, defeating Churchville-Chili and top-seeded Irondequoit.

While Webster Schroeder's offense set program records this year, it's the defense that's ruled the day in sectionals. The Warriors have allowed only seven points through two postseason games, in wins over Hilton and Victor.
