In the second week of the Ohio High School Athletic Association football postseason, third-seeded Mogadore hosts sixth-seeded East Palestine.

The Wildcats, with a 9-1 record, are coming off the bye granted to all top-four seeds. The Bulldogs (8-3) edged Western Reserve 36-35 last week in the opening round of the Region 25 postseason.

Maddox Smith making an impact

Mogadore's Maddox Smith had a big pass breakup and interception to help stifle East Palestine's second drive, a foray all the way to the Wildcats' 11.

Now, Smith, in a power formation with Dylan Benedum shuffling behind him, fakes the handoff and lofts a pass to a wide-open Collin Hendrickson.
