EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - While food assistance benefits are paused, there’s a new initiative in Evansville to help pet owners in need.

Officials with Evansville Animal Care & Control say they have started a Pet Food Bank.

Leaders posted on social media saying they know times are tough and they want to help families keep their furry friends fed.

If you’d like to donate, officials are asking for dog and cat food, kitty litter, collars, leashes, and blankets.

Donations can be dropped off at Evansville Animal Care and Control on Uhlhorn Street.
