DES MOINES, Iowa -- As the nationwide shutdown continues, travelers at the Des Moines International Airport are feeling the effects of flight reductions ordered by the FAA.
Des Moines isn’t one of the 40 major airports told to cut flights, but 21 of those airports have direct connections in and out of Des Moines. That’s creating a trickle-down effect for Iowa travelers.
On Friday, there were several flights cancelled in and out of Des Moines to or from Chicago O’Hare, Atlanta and Reagan National. At 6 p.m. on Friday, there were eight canceled flights and 30 total delays related to DSM.
