A group of suburban moms were among more than a dozen people arrested outside the immigration processing facility in Broadview Friday, witnesses said.
The arrests happened during the latest round of protests outside the facility. Protests have taken place outside the Broadview ICE processing facility frequently throughout the ramp-up of federal immigration operations in the Chicago area, known as " Operation Midway Blitz. "
The Cook County Sheriff’s Office said at least 14 people were arrested Friday.
Witnesses said the group of moms staged a sit in outside of the designated protest zone.
They formed a circle and joined hands in the middle of the street. That’s when witnesses say police surrounded them and took them into custody.
