TOLEDO, Ohio —
A restaurant in Ostrich Towne has suddenly closed, and employees of Avestruz Tapas and Tequilas said they were left with little notice and no pay.
The restaurant has a sign on the door reading that a brand-new Italian dining concept will be coming to the location, and thanking the previous chefs for their work. The sign said the new restaurant will open in early 2026.
Employees of Avestruz said this announcement came out of nowhere. They said they were told on Sunday that the restaurant was going to be closed for a few days, and a couple of days later, they said they were told it was going to be closed for good.
Avestruz has been open for about a year.
A statement from Ostrich Towne said the management team of Avestruz unexpectedly resigned with minimal notice to invest
