BESSEMER, Ala. —

An arrest has been made in the murder of a man found shot in the parking lot of a business in Bessemer last year.

Timothy Lacey Jr., 20, was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with the murder of 21-year-old James Bowen Jr., according to court records. He is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail.

Officers found Bowen shot in a parking lot off of Greenwood Parkway on Sept. 9, 2024. He was taken from the scene to UAB Hospital, where he later died.

Police have not released information regarding a potential motive for the shooting.
