If you ask them, they’ll say it happens once in a lifetime.
In a transaction completed Nov. 4, five friends from Bristol and Danbury who attended Newfound Regional High School together and grew up skiing at Ragged Mountain have purchased the central New Hampshire ski resort, which has become a regional destination because of its affordability, smaller crowds and unpretentious family and community vibe.
According to two warranty deeds recorded in Merrimack County on Tuesday, SF Mountain Co., the company the men created and own, purchased the 250-acre ski area and about 550 acres of adjacent land — much of it developable — for about $6.44 million.
