PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A Portsmouth jury has found a man guilty in the 2022 murder of 26-year-old Shakera Hines.
Jashaun Richardson was found guilty of second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony on Friday.
Evidence presented by the court found that on the afternoon of Jan. 14, 2022, Hines met with Richardson outside an apartment in the 1000 block of Virginia Avenue in the city. A verbal altercation broke out between the two. The evidence suggested Richardson shot Hines in the head before fleeing.
Hines was pronounced deceased at the scene.
