Muscatine street and buildings temporarily closed due to structural concerns

MUSCATINE, Iowa — Structural concerns have prompted the closure of GeoJohn’s and Renew Chiropractic, along with the evacuation of all apartment tenants at 201 and 203 East 2nd Street.

Sycamore Street is also closed from the #2 alley to East 2nd Street, including the sidewalks adjacent to the affected buildings on both Sycamore and East 2nd Streets, as a safety measure.

These closures will persist until a structural engineer completes a thorough assessment of the buildings. No further details are available at this time.
