Suffolk, VA – A visit to see her mother in Virginia turned into a life-changing moment for a New Jersey woman who claimed the final top prize in the Virginia Lottery’s Double It! scratch-off game.

Shannon Fields was in Suffolk when she purchased the $5 ticket at the 7-Eleven located at 1000 Centerbrooke Lane. The ticket ended up winning the game’s $100,000 top prize.

Fields later returned to Virginia to claim her prize, marking the end of the Double It! game. Under Virginia Lottery policy, scratcher games are closed once all top prizes have been claimed. The odds of winning the $100,000 prize in Double It! were 1 in 897,600, while overall odds of winning any prize were 1 in 4.82.
