New Jersey Gov.-Elect Mikie Sherrill received 1.8 million votes, more than any gubernatorial candidate in the state's history.

Sherrill will become the state's first Democratic woman elected governor. She was endorsed by former Gov. Christine Todd Whitman, a Republican who endorsed her.
