MAKAHA, Hawaii (Island News) – The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) extinguished a building fire reported on Oahu’s west side on Thursday morning.
According to HFD alerts, crews responded to the area of Kili Drive in the Makaha area after reports of a building fire incident at 8:52 a.m. Water was on the fire by 9:07 a.m.
HFD reported that the fire occurred at the Makaha Valley Towers Home.
First responders such as the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) and the Honolulu Emergency Medical Services (EMS) also arrived at the scene. Additionally, HFD reported that HECO was informed of the incident.
EMS reported that a woman, believed to be in her 60s, was taken in serious condition for serious burns and smoke inhalation.
