ESTACADA, Ore. — The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said Friday that it has suspended the active search and rescue operation for the hunter who has been missing for a week.

The 51-year-old Hubbard man, Devon Dobek, disappeared in the Mount Hood National Forest, southeast of Estacada. He was last heard from on Oct. 31 after telling friends he planned to return home the next night but was returning early; he did not return, and his friends reported him missing the next day.

Deputies later found his truck parked near the Fish Creek Trailhead, but there was no sign of him or the deer he told friends he’d harvested.

The large-scale search efforts began last Friday and will resume if new information or evidence is discovered, according to CCSO.
