MACON, Ga. — A massive interstate project is coming to an end soon.
This week, The Georgia Department of Transportation announced the I-16/I-75 Improvement Project will start its sixth and final phase this month after eight years of work.
But it's not just drivers that are excited for the final product.
Shay Patrick manages the Money Mizer Pawn Shop on Riverside Drive, and can see the next phase of the improvement project from her shop's door. She says the project has been going on almost as long as the store has been open. Since the work started back in 2017, she says she's already noticed more eyes on Riverside Drive.
"Since they've cut the trees down off of the interstate, it's more open, so a lot of the passing traffic is able to see our business along with other business on Rive
