GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A holiday marketplace in Gainesville this weekend offers baked goods, antiques, and a photo op with Santa and Mrs. Claus, with all proceeds going to charity.
Officials with the First United Methodist Church in Gainesville are hosting it for their 8th year.
Congregation members provided all the items for sale.
They say the money they raise can make a difference in the community, helping people who are struggling.
“Everybody knows the cost of living is going up; everybody knows that there are specific challenges that a lot of people are facing due to the government shutdown. Anyway that we as a community of faith can help to ease some of that burden, that’s what we’re about,” said Beth Snarr, Lead Pastor, First United Methodist Church of Gainesville.
