STILLWATER — Dee Lockett felt the nerves building as his match neared.

“What if the hometown kid fails?” he heard in his head as he prepared for his Oklahoma State wrestling debut inside Gallagher-Iba Arena on Friday night.

But the match started, the nerves faded and the hometown kid succeeded.
