BEAVERTON, Ore. — A retrial has found a Washington County man guilty in killing a woman, then burning her body, in 2018.
On Thursday, a Washington County jury found Norberto Nestor Muniz Jr. guilty of murder and first-degree abuse of a corpse. Muniz had been convicted of those crimes in 2022, but the Oregon Court of Appeals overturned the conviction and ordered a retrial.
On Nov. 17, 2018, police were called to a home off Southwest Allen Boulevard regarding a report of suspicious circumstances. While searching the house, police found the body of a woman, Amy Low, which had been badly burned.
According to Washington County District Attorney's Office, Low had lived at the house with Muniz and another man. Muniz was identified as a suspect, and detectives also found items with DNA evide
