Graves County Jailer Kelli Elliott posted Friday that she along with other jail supervision had uncovered information that a jail employee was providing contraband to inmates at the Graves County Restricted Custody Center.
On Friday afternoon, Sheriff's detectives obtained a search warrant for the deputy jailers' residence and evidence was seized.
The deputy jailer was identified as 51-year-old Billy Williams of Graves County. During the course of being interviewed, Williams confessed to providing illegal contraband to jail inmates, and receiving payment from inmates' family members.
Williams was arrested and transported to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, then to an out-of-county detention center.
He was charged with official misconduct and promoting contraband.
