Brick Memorial rushed in six touchdowns in a 40-7 victory over Steinert in the NJSIAA/Xfinity Central Jersey, Group 4 semifinals in Brick Township.

Top-seeded Brick Memorial scored two touchdowns in each of the first three quarters, and its defense held fifth-seeded Steinert scoreless until the fourth quarter.

Quarterback Jason Lajara led the way with three rushing touchdowns, powering into the end zone on three goal-line scores.

Nazeer Whitaker was also key to the win with two touchdowns on the ground and over 100 yards rushing. Whitaker scored Brick Memorial’s first points of the night on a 93-yard dash down the sideline.

Erik Pedre scored for Brick Memorial on a 13-yard run in the second quarter.
