MANKATO — The Bemidji State volleyball team was feeling pretty good about itself in the first set against No. 24 Minnesota State.

The Beavers had a 24-23 lead, but the Maavericks won the next three points to steal the set 26-24.

BSU never recovered, as it was swept by MSU, with scores of 25-17 and 25-12 in the final two sets.

Lily Riese led the team in kills with nine, while Ava Athman picked up seven. Riese also tied for the team lead in blocks with Karley Dunham. Both had three apiece.

Madison Tripp led the team with 17 assists and picked up BSU's only ace. Ava Boelter led in digs (nine), with Anna Paquette (eight) and Jada Wlodarczyk (six) trailing behind her.
